If you prefer a rare steak, use 125 degrees Fahrenheit (51 degrees Celsius). If you prefer medium-rare, use 130 degrees Fahrenheit (54 degrees Celsius). If you prefer medium-well, aim for around 150 degrees Fahrenheit (65 degrees Celsius). If you want your steak to be well done, you’ll need to make sure that it’s over 155 degrees Fahrenheit (68 degrees Celsius).

The longer you leave it to cook, the more well-done the steak will become.

Before you start searing, it’s a good idea to make sure that the steak is dry. You can do this by using a clean towel to pat it dry. It’s also a good idea to put some oil into the pan. Put the steak on a well-heated grill, then add the meat. Remember, you just want to sear it, rather than cook it. Once you see a delicious crust forming, you’ll be able to remove the steak. In most cases, this will take between five to ten minutes.
